Woomie in Murrieta

This is such an attractive sushi bar. The horseshoe
shaped, blond wood bar takes center stage with a
contrasting black ceiling and arched garden window at
the end. The dining room lacks in comparison. The
sushi chefs are very professional wearing white coats
and chef hats, and I like that this sushi bar has
pictures as well as descriptions on their menu of sushi,
rolls and appetizers. Right away they serve an
awesome bowl of marinated cucumbers, which isn't a
vegetable I normally care for, but these are so
addicting! Their saki list is informative, describing
each saki, making it apparent that each bottle of saki
is as different as each bottle of wine. Our favorite, we
found most recently here, is a Dai Ginjyo (Superior
Premium) Grade saki, Tamanohikari with cotton,
orange peel and white peach aromas and flavors of
coconut, banana and almond. It's brewed using 100%
Omachi Rice, the best saki rice. It's pricey at $48 a
bottle, but we love it! With rolls under our belts as the
Tempura Roll and the impressive Hawaiian Volcano
which is set on a bed of flames, we are both in
agreement that the Ninja Roll which tops a California
Roll with salmon and tuna and the enormous Woomi
Roll are the ones we will return for. The rolls range
from $4.75 for a California Roll to a whopping $18.95
for the Woomi, but most average around $11. They
also made one of the best Oyster Shooters here. My
husband says, "Chopping up the oyster is the key, so
you don't have to swallow it like an eyeball." I had to
laugh! They also offer menu items in the dining room
where you can design your own meal choosing two or
three different items such as chicken or beef teriyaki,
sushi rolls or sashimi, tempura or BBQ Spareribs which
were tasty, but small. I don't know what the name
means, all I know is they did!

Open for lunch Monday through Friday 11:30-2:30,
dinner Sunday through Friday at 5:00 p.m. and
Saturday all day from 1:00 to 10:30 p.m.
