Vista Mirage

It's a mighty difficult finding a hotel that offers enough sleeping
space for a family of five and lately we've been bringing an extra
relative or two which makes the task even harder. I've found that
there are hundreds of timeshares across the nation that sell lodging
to the public. They offer one and two bedroom condos that sleep six
people and sometimes more and for the most part they don't cost
much more than a decent hotel room with only a couple of double
beds. Vista Mirage is one of those timeshares. We rented room #
403, a two bedroom condo that sleeps six, complete with two
bathrooms, a fold out sofa, full kitchen, living room and dining room
right next to the large pool for under $200 a night. It had two
televisions, a VCR, microwave, dishwasher and air conditioning. On-
site amenities include two swimming pools, two whirlpools, a tennis
court, barbecues, laundry facility, exercise equipment, a game room
with a ping-pong table and a playground area for the kids. I don't
suggest getting a room close to the playground as it was next to the
highway and there was traffic noise. Our room #403 was ideal, on
the opposite side of the complex. Pool towels are available at the
front desk and movie rentals are available for a fee. We arrived on
Friday night while they were hosting a complimentary "Wine and
Cheese" reception from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday morning we
enjoyed the "All-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast" offering Belgian
waffles, coffee and juice for $3.50 per person. What's nice about
renting a timeshare is that they are occupied usually by families so
it's pretty mellow. Vista Mirage is also gated so it is very safe.

Check-in is at 4:00 p.m. and check-out is at 11:00 a.m.
