A stay in the upscale town of Laguna can be costly, especially the closer
you get to the beach. I booked a room here, because it was cheap. Although our room was uneventful and had no view, it worked for us. The beach was right around the corner and the pool a few steps away from our room, perfect for watching the kids while going back to pour another drink, grab snacks or use the restroom. We spent our days on the beach, returning to shower off the sand in the outdoor shower (with hot & cold water) before more playtime in the pool before dinner. Unlike many of the more expensive places we've stayed in, our room had a refrigerator, a tremendous convenience for having snacks and drinks around for those with children. There were also ice and soda machines and continental breakfast served 7:00-11:00 a.m. with mini-donuts, boxes of juice, fresh fruit and coffee. The daily maid-service was great, considering the kids would have the room demolished and sand ridden by the days end. Our room #103 had 2 double beds at the summer rate of $139 for a weekday. They have upstairs rooms with a partial ocean view for $185 weekend and their cheapest room has one double bed for $99. I would definitely take another family trip here.
