I looked long and hard to find a place to stay here in La
Jolla. It was a tall task, considering this is a high class
city with unlimited amounts of money poured into
everything you look at from the ritzy restaurants to cars
that costs as much as homes. It was nearly impossible
to find a reasonable price for accommodations here.
After going to dozens of websites and realizing that I
wasn't going to find much of anything under $400 a
night, I decided to compromise some of my usual
requirements to find a place with an ocean view. So the
place didn't have to be big or fancy and I was thrilled to
find this place, clean and simple. After asking many
questions, it turns out every room is decorated in the
same white and tans. The room we had, room #12
which was a Deluxe Junior Suite, because it's located on
the second story and on the end has the best ocean
view of all the rooms. We actually had full unobstructed
views out of all three windows. Our room had a sitting
area to enjoy their complimentary continental breakfast
of coffee or juice and assorted pastries delivered fresh
every morning from a nearby bakery. It also had a
coffee pot, small refrigerator, bathtub/shower and
fireplace. We really didn't need much else, except
maybe more time to spend here to enjoy the sound of
the surf and the beautiful sunsets. This place use to be
a motel which they redecorated to Bed & Breakfast
standards. Check in time was 2:00pm and check out
time was 12:00 noon. The extra time they give you here
was really nice. For a future visit here I would choose
again our room #12, even though it was small, I just
wouldn't pay more for a bigger room at the expense of
losing our view.
