This place is really something to see. It's striking design is a
marvel starting with the flames-in-water effect at the entrance wall. Inside is underground dark with floor to ceiling sheets of water dividing sections of the restaurant. The sound alone is soothing. The waitresses lends a Gothic flair dressed in black leather shorts, fishnet stockings and shiny stacked boots. The name is reflective of their rum collection, the largest in the world, with over 150 varieties. We came for a drink and a quick bite before our show. The appetizers were delicious starting with the Coconut Shrimp which was amazing! Colossal sized shrimp was tucked inside a crisp coconut breading with a scrumptious sweet yellow curry sauce, oh how I wanted more! The Duck Confit Picadillo Empanadas was very pleasing, sort of a meat turnover with Tangerine Xuxu and a teasing amount of Roasted Red Pepper Cream, which we ordered an extra side of. The Crispy Fried Calamari Salad came highly recommended by the waiter as his favorite dish. It was a surprising, if not better version of a Chinese chicken salad with whole cashews and chaote fruit. Interestingly they offer a Rodizio Fire Pit which they offer "unlimited quantities of meats with accompaniments and condiments for $39.50 for adults and $19.95 for children under twelve". I don't know when I could possibly eat that much meat, but it should be quite the affair for meat lovers. After 11:00 the restaurant turns into a hot spot with dancers on the suspended catwalk and Russian aerialist above the partiers. We went back after our show to see it for ourselves, only to find they were demanding a $20 cover charge per person, despite the fact that we just ate here two hours earlier and were prepared to show our dinner receipt. Forget that! Prices were steep enough with my Mojito which tasted mostly like sugar water $8 and the Monte Cristo Cable Car was a whopping $11.50, definitely not worth it. The appetizers were so good and generous I didn't mind the prices with the Duck Empanadas $10, $12 for the Calamari Salad and $19.95 for the Coconut Shrimp. This place is shouldn't be missed.
