Petrossian Bar

This bar is the ultimate! It's designed to satisfy
sophisticated tastes with fine champagne, raw meats,
premium cigars and Petrossian Caviar. We had no idea
what we'd stumbled upon when we stopped in here for a
quick drink and an appetizer. Situated off Bellaggio's
Casino at the entrance into the Botanical Gardens, it was
the piano player that first caught our attention. A table
outside the main lounge, around the piano seemed ideal,
as it also provided us with an advantageous location for
people watching, but they were all taken. So the hostess
took us inside where we were happily surprised to get
even better seating in a smaller balcony still overlooking
the casino, the perfect place to enjoy a Secret Crush, the
cocktail of course! Their bar menu encourages variety,
exclusively offering appetizers. With so many foreign
temptations, the appetizer sampler, the Assiette
Gourman, seemed the smart place to start. This came
with four samplings, the Beef Carpaccio, Smoked Salmon
Croquette, Smoked Salmon and Foie Gras. Two of the
samplings were out-of-this-world! The Smoked Salmon
was set upon an amazing risotto, but it was the Foie Gras
that blew our minds! We had to experience more of this,
requesting a full order. We savored each morsel of these
delicate slices which melted like butter in our mouths and
went so perfectly with the apple compote. Had I not
known, I could have been fooled into thinking it was
dessert. I can easily say it was possibly the best thing
I've ever eaten in life. Our quick stop in for a drink and
appetizer cost us more than $100 and I could hardly pull
myself away. There was still fine champagne and caviar
to feast upon, and I'll certainly return for their afternoon
tea and vodka tastings. All in all, I was so happy to have
stumbled in here on my birthday, it was perfect!

Open 24 hours, serving afternoon tea from 2:00 p.m. to
5:00 p.m. The high prices are not a complaint for those
who live to eat like this with the Assiette Gourman $35
and the Foie Gras $26. Caviar is served Sunday through
Thursday 12:00 p.m. to midnight and Friday and Saturday
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and ranges between $65 and $90
an ounce.
