wrapped in a thin crepe and the other is served in iceberg lettuce cups, both are
accompanied with hoisin sauce. Both the Mango Duck Salad tossed with honey coated walnuts and the Chinese Chicken Salad have plenty of meat and excellent dressings. Entrees are hard to narrow down, it's all so good, though the Honey Walnut Shrimp is a must every time. Words can't say enough about this dish. It's more shrimp than I've ever seen offered in a single entree, lightly crispy and honey coated, tossed with whole candied walnuts and can nearly be mistaken for dessert. The Lemon Chicken came with a lightly breaded breast of chicken sliced and tossed with thin lemon wheels and a pleasingly tangy glaze. The Tea Smoked Duck is another amazing dish, roasted tender, yet crispy and served with an ever so tender steamed Chinese dumpling to tuck the meat into, and sweet hoisin sauce to dip them in, my seven year old son rolled his eyes with pleasure with his first bite of this dish and has added it to his list of favorite foods. The Singapore Noodles were similar to angel hair pasta with bits of meat, slivers of red bell pepper and onions, and was actually better the next day, so order some to take home. The Kon Pao San Yan was a spicy dish with red dried chiles, peanuts, green onions, chicken, shrimp and beef. The meats practically melted in my mouth and it was nice not to have all those veggie fillers, and, yes, I even ate the dried chiles! The Orange Flavored Chicken is a familiar dish with chunks of crispy coated chicken tossed in a spicy orange sauce. I was reluctant to order the Fish in Black Bean Sauce from the dinner menu, but more than pleased with this dish with pan-fried fish fillet so mild that it could nearly be mistaken for chicken. The deliciously dark and slightly salty black bean sauce mingled with thin slices of green onions making choosing a favorite dish here even harder now. Finally, there was the Asian Spiced Beef Short, a flavor sensation with tender chunks of beef piled on a bed of Asian noodles and fresh spinach. I wasn't sure about the noodles, but the meat was unbelievable! I feel confident in saying, you won't get a bad dish here, not even mediocre, it's all done so well. Prices are more than fair with "lunch specials" which come with a choice from eight different entrees, soup of the day, spring roll, salad and steamed rice for $6.75 to $8.75. Appetizers range from $3.25 for Vegetable Spring Rolls to $7.50 for Sesame Baby Back Ribs and dinner entrees range from $7.75 for Mandarin Meatball Casserole to $19.75 for the Crispy Whole Striped Bass. Panda Inn has class all the way, ending your meal with a White Chocolate Dipped Fortune Cookie wrapped in colorful foil. I'm always impressed!

They say you can't judge a book by it's cover, and it's
very good advice, but one can't help, but appreciate this striking little structure, which doesn't squelch high hopes. As with the outside, the architectural interest carries throughout the inside with high ceilings, angled walls and a variety of window shapes. The large terra cotta colored diningroom is the focal point, but the other two smaller dining rooms are just as nice. There's a modest lounge which doesn't offer privacy, but puts patrons at ease offering cocktails during extended waits for a table. Their glass enclosed rooms with french doors are unique and ideal for private parties. The food could hardly be done better here, it's one of my favorite restaurants, on a short list of only three. An obvious choice for starters is the sinfully delicious Crab Wontons filled with fresh crab meat, melted cream cheese and scallions. This is paired perfectly with a sweet chili sauce. Two similar appetizers are the Mu Shu Pork/Chicken and the Minced Chicken with Lettuce Cups, both are assembled tableside, one is |
