Old Town Temecula
Temecula, California
The Old Temecula jail
I've driven through Old Town Temecula a couple of
times, wanting to stop and look around. The store
facades are, nothing, but character, as well as the
interiors which have been preserved to reflect the
town's history. With so much to see, I knew it would
have to play out over several trips, for me to really get
to know this town.

Scene one:
I met my friend, Cindy, out here for lunch, to catch up
on life and a do a bit of shopping. Though the two of us
pride ourselves capable of being a guys best friend we
seem to discover our feminine side when we are
together. Heading slowly down Front Street we
realized there was so much to see and we needed a
plan. After a bit of walking and checking out menus we
settled on lunch at the Swing Inn Cafe, which would
have pleased any "meat & potato" kind of guy. Then it
was off to find treasures. To our good fortune we
discovered The Country Porch, which had so many
tempting things to buy around every corner. There
were beautiful dolls, upscale antiques and all the cabin
accessories I could ask for to decorate my boys "boat
house" room. Their business card read, "We're the
store you get lost in." True it was, I'd spent over $150
before leaving here! It seemed to be our lucky day
cause our next stop was Nana's Antiques another
wonderful store, which provided us with everything
girlie and satisfied our shopping desires. There was so
much lace, crystal and frilly things packed in here that
we giddily called to each other over every discovery.
With very little time left we arrived at our last shop,
which didn't keep our attention span, and left shortly
after we'd arrived. Still, we were pretty happy with all
that we crammed into three and a half hours, but with
so much unfinished business, we resolved ourselves
to return again the end of October.
