Mission Inn Brunch

Sunday brunch is all about indulgence, and the enchanting Mission Inn
is the perfect setting for luxury. Guests are welcome to find an ideal
spot whether it be the Mission Inn Restaurant or it's courtyard, Duane's
Steakhouse or a table amongst the wandering foliage of Las Campanas
patio. In the lobby, just outside Duane's Steakhouse, tables are
dressed to impress. Lying beneath silver domes you'll find everything
from eggs benedict to pasta to sweet & sour chicken. Cold selections
included several salads, fresh fruit, a cheese platter, antipasto, bagels,
smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers, peel & eat shrimp, a whole
fresh herb roasted salmon, a small selection of sushi, oysters on the
half-shell and smoked seafood such as scallops, oysters and eel. At
one station a chef carves meats; roast turkey, ham and prime rib,
while at another a chef waits to make fresh Belgian waffles to cradle
warm butter & syrup or sliced strawberries and freshly whipped cream.
Two chefs tend to saute pans, preparing omelettes with an array of
ingredients to choose from. On some weekends there is even a station
assembling made-to-order quesadillas. Free flowing Wycliff
champagne is offered as well as orange juice, coffee or other non-
alcoholic beverages. Many plates later that well thought out plan of
attack on the dessert table seems to have now lost it's momentum,
while the lively effects of endless champagne are now suggesting a
nap. Still that dessert table beckons. Finally the well intentioned visit
for just a bite or two revives the spirit, piling the plate ridiculously high
with creme brulee, chocolate eclairs, cheesecake, cobbler, carrot cake,
tiramisu and bread pudding. After soaking up all this lazy afternoon
has to offer, stepping back into the daily rush is mighty hard. Oh, how
convenient, there's a bed waiting right upstairs!
