Medieval Times
This past trip in May was my 6th visit here and it hasn't changed a bit.
The first time of course is the best not knowing what to expect. But I still
enjoy coming with people who haven't been before to share in their
excitement. Coming here is a place you can pretend to go back in time.
When you first arrive here you are assigned a color section and a paper
crown to identify it with. Your picture is then taken with the King or
Queen of the castle which they offer to you to buy later in the show. Get
here even earlier and take a walk through their large gift shop to buy
more authentic hats and weapons for children and adults alike. This is
probably a really good idea since they are going to take your picture
again at your table and those paper hats look pretty cheesy. The half
hour or so before the show is when they do the "Knighting" which is so
exciting for kids under 10, they take it SO seriously. I thought a couple
of the boys that went with us were going to hyperventilation! Once
seated the show begins with the introduction of the horses and a wizard
and escalating to the different colored knight vying against each other in
medieval competitions. Everytime a knight wins a battle he receives a
rose from the king to throw to one of the ladies in his section. The meal
throughout the show is generous, starting with soup and garlic bread,
graduating to a roasted half chicken, a rib, half a roasted potato and
ending with dessert, all to be eaten with your hands since silverware
hadn't been invented yet. The good news about the meal is they got rid
of that awful strawberry jelly tart and replaced it with a much tastier
pastry, but the bad news is they don't serve that wonderful wine sangria
they use to have. Now they offer complimentary beer or coke. If you
are coming with a large party it can get pricey here. We've had two of
our children's birthday parties here and the specials below came in
handy on our last visit. And if you really want to have fun with it dress
everyone up, it really made the trip for the kids quite the event! Go to
