Krispy Kreme

I'm writing about donuts. I can't believe it myself! We're now part of the
cult! and I don't typically care for doughnuts! The other night Ken was
kidding me and said, "Oh look! There's a Krispy Kreme!" I got all giddy
and started frantically looking for it. He said, "Not really, it's just a Burger
King." I was bummed. It all started when we got to The Block At Orange
and saw this drive-thru with hundreds of cars lined up through the drive-
thru as far as you could see! There were even police officers directing
traffic, I was shocked. I knew I had to check it out before we headed for
home to see what all the hype was about. By the time we left the mall,
around 9:30 p.m. it was still the same, maybe worse. We knew if we went
through the drive-thru we'd be there forever so we parked the car and
went in. The crowds and the excitement over these doughnuts was
contagious. The guy in front of us was going on and on about them, it was
obvious he was in love. Can you imagine hundreds of people lined up
inside and out waiting for doughnuts at 9:30 in the evening? Well they
were pretty amazing and we ate a half dozen of them in the first 15
minutes. They absolutely melt-in-your-mouth. Nothing like any
doughnut I'd ever had. The Glazed is what made them famous. Their best
eaten while they're still warm. The next morning pop one in the
microwave for about 12 seconds and you can almost get them back to
their original state. The Chocolate Cream Filled are sinfully delicious, my
other favorite! My husband loves their seasonal Peaches & Cream. Look
for them in the summer-time. So keep an eye out for the "Hot Doughnuts
Now" sign when they're fresh off the production line, they're the most
amazing doughnuts ever!
