Admittedly we never got to eat "in" the restaurant. We came to their
hotel with our three kids for a weekend stay, so most all of our meals we ordered pool side or in our room via "room service". We did take a peak in the restaurant to get a picture for the website and wished for a meal at a table with a bay side view, but the elegant atmosphere would have suffered from three antsy kids. Though the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms arrived at the outdoor bar nearly cold, they were still good. The meat in the Chicken Sate was excellent, moist, tender and grilled just right. It was served with a peanut sauce on the plate alongside an oriental dressed mix of greens so the two sauces got a bit mixed together, which was still good, but you might want to order an extra side of the peanut sauce. This appetizer is on the menu as Beef Sate, but they do also make it with chicken, just so you know. Then there was the Tempura Popsicles which starts with a piece of shrimp, threaded on a wooden skewer then wrapped in crab, then Japanese nori (seaweed) and tempura battered and fried. It really needed bigger shrimp and more crab, but the wasabi butter was awesome. The Crisp Fried Calamari was breaded rings and bodies, served with a spicy tomato sauce and a chipotle aioli. This was our favorite appetizer of the four we tried. We ordered a Cheese Pizza for the kids that was very cheesy, while the Cheeseburger and the Club Sandwiches were good, not mention a lot of food, they were nothing out of the ordinary. For dinner we enjoyed a bowl of the Lobster Bisque which was a less creamy version than I'm used to, but it was sweet and full of flavor. For dinner we ordered the Grilled Lamb Chops served atop carrot and potato filled ravioli with a port glaze. The ravioli was interesting, a bit firmer than we prefer, but the chops were done perfectly. We also approved of the Prime Rib which was served with Creamy Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I regret not having room for the Fresh Dungeness Crab Cakes with sweet white corn salsa and roasted red and yellow bell pepper sauces, as well as the Macadamia Crusted Halibut with a citrus teriyaki glaze and cilantro. We did get to try three of their Killer Chocolate Cake which really needed to come to room temperature, I think, to fully appreciate it. The Cheesecake was a bit dense and not as creamy as mine and the Gelato Vera Ice Cream was nice, but I think they should have slightly mashed those tart berries with a little sugar before topping of that wonderful bowl of vanilla ice cream. Both the chocolate cake and the cheesecake came garnished with a large chocolate covered strawberry. I thought the food here was good, with creative combinations and fresh ingredients, but their talents lie in their meats. I think I could get a better feel for the place dining at a table, with a cocktail in hand, watching the boats go by.
They also offer an Award Winning Sunday Brunch featuring omelettes
and pasta made-to-order, waffles, carved roasts, smoked salmon, oysters, shrimp, cracked crab claws and fresh hand rolled sushi. Indulge in ice cream sundaes, chocolate dipped strawberries and more, all complimented by free flowing champagne. Brunch is Sundays from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.
