several of the recipes before I left which they were glad to give out.
Besides all that I think the thing I looked forward to the most was
raiding the cookie jar all day long which was filled daily with the day's
fresh baked goodies, and retiring in the parlor to watch an old black &
white movie. We dressed for the occasion in our pajamas and robes,
poured a cup of tea and snuggled on the sofa to watch Humphry
Boagart in the Maltese Falcon. After this second visit we decided one
night at a time is just not enough to soak it all in.

Heritage Park Inn
Old Town San Diego, California
The world nowadays seems to keep
spinning faster and faster, who can
keep up anymore? At some time or
another we've probably all longed
for the good old days when the pace
was slower and times simpler,
though in reality they were
anything, but simpler. Still all the
romance of the Victorian days you'll
find here, and I got to say, there
aren't many places that I can think
of that leaves me with a feel like
Heritage Inn does. I'd come nearly
seven years ago and longed to come
back, which was unusual for my
personality, which leaves me bored
having to watch the same movie
twice and unsurprised having to
stay at the same place twice. It was
certainly hard to chose a room with
each room having such different
personalities. There was the
"Garrett Room" hidden up in the
third floor attic, as well as the
"Grandview Room" which had a
canopied bed, a park view and a
whirlpool claw foot tub for two, and
the one I chose, the "Forget-Me-Not
Room" which won the Waverly
Fabric first place award in Country
Inns Magazine, it was lovely without
being frilly. The rooms range from
$120 to a two bedroom for $250.
There is plenty to do here too, from
taking a stroll up the historic block
where the original 100 year old
neighborhood is still in tact, some
displaying gifts and antiques to their
patrons, or adding your efforts to
their ongoing jigsaw puzzle in the
parlor. Afternoon tea is served in
the parlor and would be a shame to
miss, with scrumptious tea
sandwiches, dips and a variety of
sweets, and their breakfast!..... Of
all the Bed & Breakfasts that I've
been to this one is still the most
memorable. On my visit I asked for
