HAPPY HOUR

This place is a blast! We came for an appetizer before
our show at the Comedy Store just down the street and
never left!

One doesn't have to disappear into darkness to enjoy a
lively atmosphere. One big room is open to sidewalk
patio seating, while the air hockey table was an outlet
for some lively banter. The sushi style fare was a nice
surprise, and as luck would have it we were here just in
time for happy hour! From 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. selected
appetizers are "Two For One". You order one item and
you get another of the same for the price of one.

Salmon Tartar topped small crispy rice cakes with fresh
salmon tossed with creamy wasabi. It was only a half
dozen bites for $11.99, but a second one brought the
price to $6 a piece for two. Shrimp Tempura was a
better value for $8.99 for one or $4.50 a plate for two
at happy hour. Drinks are also two for one. I wish we
weren't having so much fun because we just couldn't
focus on the food, and we never made it to our show!

After a day of skiing one doesn't have to go
far to unwind and recall the day's
adventures. The Cellar Bar is right across
the road in the "Old World" Austria Hof
Restaurant. The bar is dimly lit and small,
with a several long tables accommodating a
group of 6 to 8 people, a couple of smaller
tables, as well as individual seating at the
bar. Serving cocktails, specialty martinis,
imported and draft beer, the bartender even
has a special brew of Apple Cider he's
anxious to impress you with. Happy Hour
not only offers drink specials, but
complimentary appetizers also. Help
yourself to a Vegetable Crute, Pasta Salad or
maybe Taquitos depending upon the chef's
offering. Happy Hour is daily from 3:00 to
6:00 p.m.
