Grafton on Sunset
Los Angeles, California
Finding a place to stay in Los Angeles can be an
intimidating task. The city's reputation for danger
leaves more riding on the task than cared for.
Finding the desired areas of the city is the first task.
Finding one that doesn't require a movie star
budget is even harder. Grafton on Sunset fit the bill.

This newly renovated four story hotel, formerly
known as the Park Sunset Hotel is nestled between
some of the nicest hotels on the Sunset Strip. It's
easy to miss when you drive by, taking up very little
space along the boulevard, but it's bigger than it
looks with 108 guest rooms situated 4-stories up
around a Mediterranean-style pool. The best views
are of the pool for about $20 extra. Our first floor
room had us pool side the moment we opened our
door.

I especially like Grafton's safe location with the
House of Blues and Comedy Store just a couple of
minutes away on foot. On site is the very trendy
Boa Steak House & Lounge which also caters to
room service. I was anxious to check the place out,
but the night was cut short with my friend not
feeling well. I hardly felt bad though tucked into my
bed with a plate of crab legs with clarified butter,
foie gras and a cheesy bowl of macaroni.

Our room #112 was $210 on a Saturday night in
October. Don't forget the parking which is a
whopping $24 per night.

Grafton on Sunset was more than I expected for it's
location and price. It has everything you need to
just disappear for a while!
