I really wasn't expecting much when friends of ours
booked us rooms at The Comfort Suites Mission Valley. The name brought to mind visions of a cheap motel and I was disappointed at the thought. When we pulled up I started to sound more positive, commenting on how nice the front looked. Looking down into the courtyard while toting our luggage to our third floor room didn't resemble any notion I'd had of a "cheap motel". The pool and spa was surrounded by tropical foliage lending a nice vacation feel. I was further surprised when we opened the door to our Family Suite. It was spacious and nice. Between the main bedroom and the bathroom was the children's quarters. This was partitioned off with a lace covered french slider and furnished with bunk beds, a television and a little table with chairs. The bathroom was done in cream and taupe with marbled counters and unfinished floor tiles, a great solution to prevent slips. Our room included Internet access, coffee pot, hair dryer, 2 televisions, microwave and small refrigerator. There were several restaurants behind the motel; Benihana, TGI Friday and El Torito. You can't beat the price for all that Comfort Suites has to offer. Our winter rate for our Family Suite on a Saturday night was only $89.95 and this included a complimentary continental breakfast buffet offering bagels, muffins, pastries, fruit and juices. This is from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays and 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. on weekends. I also like that they do not have two night minimums on weekends. This was a great find!
Check-in at noon, check-out is 11:00 a.m.
