Their standard Canyon View Room has internet standard price of $269 and an
Internet "Hot Promo" price of $249, but when I called the reservation desk
directly I booked the same room for $199. So it pays to shop around. Our
Canyon View Suite was roughly $250 more per night. For the ultimate in
romance here book one of their 6 Casitas at the Oasis. Each of these secluded
suites have a private pool, jetted whirlpool bath, separate living room with
dining for 6 people.

A $10 resort fee is added to the nightly rate which includes valet, coffee
services, T-1 Internet, 24-hour gym, sauna, steam room, relaxation pools and
relaxation rooms.

This casino has come along way from the days of
charging a fee to play a hand of cards and restricting
cocktails within the bar perimeters. The new towering
Morongo Casino Resort stands alone in a seeming
desert of Cabazon.

While many of the Indian casinos are continually
expanding to keep up with the others Morongo Casino
Resort has done it with so much style. Behind the
lobby reception desk I admired an artful display of
colorful flowers. The casino itself rivals many in Vegas
with 2000 slot machines, 100 gaming tables and a 22-
table poker room. Though cocktails aren't free they
are now allowed at the gaming tables and slot
machines.

Restaurants include the Steakhouse, which was
temporarily closed until further notice, the Potrero
Canyon Buffet, the coffee shop-style Serrano, the pool
side Sunset Bar & Grill, the upscale Cielo and a food
court for a quick bite.

Their Key Club at Morongo is a sister venue to the club
on Sunset in West Hollywood where one can take in a
concert or show. There are three other lounges for
dancing and cocktails. At Sage one can get such spa
treatments as a Prenatal Massage, a RS2 Rosacea
Mask or a CosMD Anti-Aging Facial.

The rooms rivaled the best that Vegas has to offer.
Our Canyon View Suite had a beautiful marble
bathroom with a raised Jacuzzi tub, frameless shower
and his & her sinks, his & her closets, a wet bar with a
stocked refrigerator, 2 widescreen LCD televisions, a
separate living room with another bathroom and view
of the mountains.

Overall I think the new Morongo Casino Resort was
done very well. Much better than I'd expected. As far
as the future of other casinos here in California are
concerned, I think the bar has just been raised.
