If a picture paints a thousand words then the
aromas wafting throughout this place does the same. It's intoxicating. Lovely loaves and tempting pastries are baked fresh every day at the front entrance, where sidewalk traffic can peek their head in to watch. It's modest exterior fooled me for years, and what a shame! On this trip we had already decided that breakfast with an ocean view would be the ideal start to our carefree summer day. Our table on the outdoor balcony, located at the back of the building wasn't particularly fancy by any means, but provided the beach view we anticipated. I, on the other hand, already missed the smells, and was mentally kicking myself for not coming here before the final day of our trip. I now realized I'd missed some romantic evenings here, dining in other local restaurants which had been less pleasing. So I resolved myself to come again and looked over the menu, and what a treat! Breakfast, as well as lunch is served all day long until 4:00 p.m.. I sampling several menu items, Oeufs Et Pain Perdu - french toast stuffed with cream cheese and marmalade, which wasn't as sinful as it sounded and came with two eggs and a choice of bacon or sausage. Pasta for breakfast sounded a bit early, but the Pasta Momma sauteing onions and Italian bacon with scrambled eggs, linguine, parmesan and tomatoes pulled it off. My favorite selection though, was the one I thought I'd like the least, the Le Croque Monsieur "a popular Parisian sandwich" with ham and melted Swiss on toasted sourdough that is finally topped with a white bechamel sauce. It was semi-rich and very homey. Leaving behind so much was unsettling. The menu was quite extensive and included a Monte Cristo Sandwich, several varieties of crepes, quiches, and desserts, as well as a champagne cocktail menu |

which I'm anxious to sip my way through, you certainly don't see that everyday! I'd
love to see the dinner menu! As I was regretfully leaving, I complimented the hostess, which had more class than I usually see before noon, and had to be affiliated with the owner, that they get my vote for "the best smelling restaurant".
Our entrees at lunch were $9.95 and $10.95
