I can remember as a child, the
excitement I felt seeing one of these miniature golf amusement parks off the side of the freeway. The windmills, water fountains and castles evoked visions of imaginable fun. Decades later, I know how my kids feel, pointing them out every time too. We eventually get to each one, and they're all different. Boomer's has Bumper Boats, Batting Cages, Go-Karts, indoor and outdoor Miniature Golf, Kiddie Rides and a Rock Wall. The rides were behind the times with a half dozen rides and a bouncy tank for the little ones and Ferris Wheel and Spinning Cups for the older ones. There indoor miniature golf was unique and perfect for rainy days. One indoor course was designed to feel like you're outside with fountains and such, and most interesting was the Cosmic Golf. This glow in the dark two-story course was rocking with tunes and psychadellic energy. The Bumper Boat pool was larger than others we'd been to with two pools and a bridge to travel under to get to each. With water guns attached to each boat and a waterfall to get stuck under, you'd be lucky to get out of this attraction dry. Boomer's restaurant was big, clean and comfortable with booths and long tables to accommodate big parties. A day at Boomer's can be quite pricey without taking advantage of one of their deals, the best being Ten Buck Tuesday & Thursdays. For $10 you get unlimited video games, miniature golf, bumper boats and kiddie rides. For an additional $5 you can add on unlimited Go-Karts and Rock Wall, another $5 get you unlimited Cosmic Golf. |
